Smart
Industries is a privately owned manufacturer of coin operated amusement
games, established in 1963 by Gordon Smart as President and his
son Jeff Smart as Vice President.
At
first, Smart Industries consisted of a street route with 500 games
and a 200 piece traveling arcade which appeared at major state fairs
on the carnival circuit. In addition, they developed and managed
permanent arcades in amusement parks throughout the Midwest, including
Adventureland Park in Altoona, Iowa. In 1985, Smart Industries began
developing and manufacturing coin operated amusement games. The
Bear Claw / Clean Sweep Crane was the first game developed and put
into production. Many new games have followed, to include the newest
addition to the Smart game family, Hollywood Photos.
Smart
Industries has grown from 3 employees to over 120 and continues
to grow. The success of the company comes from a dedicated staff
working together to produce quality products. Smart Industries continues
to increase sales and market share throughout the world. Games are
purchased by carnival circuits, amusement parks, arcades, family
fun centers, and route operators.
Continued
research and innovative game design ensures Smart Industries' continued
growth and success.
