NAMCO SERVICE BULLETIN Crisis Zone-Gun Motor Failure Status Update At Namco, we pride ourselves as being able to provide the highest quality amusement machines in the business. We have built our reputation providing games that earn well and have a good service record. After all, if it's not working, it's not earning. As you may already know, we are currently experiencing a higher than acceptable rate of failures on the Crisis Zone gun shaker assemblies. We are currently working on this problem but have yet to discover a solution that we believe is acceptable. In the meantime we are dedicated to doing our best to minimize the operators downtime associated with this problem. The good news is that this problem does not stop the machine from earning. The game functions fine with the shaker mechanism turned off. We do believe that the player's experience is heightened by the tactile feedback of the shaker and therefore we are searching for a longer lasting solution. We will continue to fill your orders for replacement parts for the gun shaker motor. Please try and understand that the parts we are sending you are similar to the parts you are replacing and therefore may not provide you with a much longer life than the original. As soon as we have the problem solved we will provide you with the replacement parts. The following page outlines how to set your game up to operate without the shaker motor activated. You can use these settings to keep your Crisis Zone game earning while waiting for replacement parts. Thank you for your patience while we work on this problem. THE STAFF AT NAMCO AMERICA How to Disable Gun Shaker MotorIf the vibrating motor in your Crisis Zone gun should fail, you will experience either on of two things depending on how your machine has been set. Either the motor error sign "M" in the corner of the screen during attract mode or the game will lock up and the "Motor Error" message will appear on your screen. If this failure occurs, the following procedure will allow you to disable the signal to the failed motor and will allow for the continued operation of your game. We recommend this only as an interim procedure until replacement parts can be provided. 1. Unlock and open the coin door and turn ON the TEST switch. This will bring up the game menu onto the screen. 2. Using the "SELECT" switch (UP/DOWN) to highlight the "GAME OPTIONS". Then press the "ENTER" button to get into the game options menu. 3. The Game Options Menu should now appear on the screen. 4. Using the "SELECT" switch to select the "GUN MOTOR" then change the "GUN MOTOR" setting to "OFF". 5. Press the "ENTER" switch to exit the menu. 6. Turn the "TEST" switch to "OFF" position. This will set the game operation into the attract mode. 7. To determine if the gun motor power has been turned off, when the game is powered up, the error sign "M" or the MOTOR ERROR message will no longer appear on your screen. |
